In recent years, the best word to describe the Galaxy A series is sprawling. Its lineup is so diverse, ranging from low- cost to nearly flagship- level offerings, that Samsung could have easily spun it off as a separate brand. That isn’ t to say we don’ t think they should.
The Korean giant is clearly banking hard on the Galaxy A family. In fact, it now represents the largest portion of the company’ s salesi. There is only one way to pull off that level of success- and it’ s by offering competitive features under high- profile branding for a reasonable amount. A daunting task that Samsung has been tackling like a true smartphone champ in nifty incremental steps throughout the last few Galaxy A generations.
The Galaxy A32, as well as the recently announced A72 and A52 duo, all deliver excellent value this year. This year, however, it’ s the plain Galaxy A52 model that shines the brightest and goes above and beyond.
The Galaxy A52 LTE version is the device we’ ll be looking at in this review. It’ s the one with a starting price of €349 (MSRP) for a 4GB/128GB model, and a starting price of €430 for the 5G model.
The 5G version comes with a faster Snapdragon 750G chip set and a 120Hz panel, as well as a 6GB minimum RAM size.

The Galaxy A52 LTE model is the subject of this review. A higher- grade chip set and a 120Hz screen refresh rate are included in the 5G version. Here’ s how they stack up in terms of specifications.
When we compare the A52 to last year’ s Galaxy A51, however, things become a lot more impressive in terms of value. Sure, the price has risen slightly, but you now get a 90Hz refresh rate, IP67 rating, stereo speakers, a larger 4, 500 mAh battery with 25W charging, and a higher- res 64MP main camera with OIS, in no particular order.
For lack of a better term, this pushes the Galaxy A52 closer to a flagship feature set in our minds. The value proposition is excellent, and there isn’ t much to dislike here. At least, that’ s how it appears on paper. Join us as we go over the ins and outs of the review.
The Galaxy A52 is packaged in a two- piece design. There’ s nothing flashy here, no plastic, just paper. It gets the job done despite being thick and rigid. Only a regular Type- A charger and a Type- A to Type- C cable are included in the accessories package. There are a few leaflets and that’ s it.
It’ s worth noting that the Galaxy A52 can charge at up to 25 watts. It does not, however, come with one. Instead, a basic 15W unit is included in the box. However, this may differ from market to market, so double- check with your preferred retailer. Plus, getting one separately if you need faster charging isn’ t a big deal, but it’ s enough to raise a few eyebrows.
