A. MTN mPulse Prepaid is a basic prepaid plan that allows Pre-Teen and Teen customers between the age bracket of 9 and 15 years enjoy, Special data bundles, Special Birthday reward, lots of other exciting offers and National calls at 15.36k/secs.

Q. Who can migrate to MTN mPulse?

A. ALL MTNN Pre-Teen and Teen customers between the age bracket of 9 and 15 years can migrate to MTN mPulse tariff plan.

Q. How do I migrate to MTN mPulse Plan?

A. To migrate to mPulse plan, simply do any of the following:

  • Dial *344*1#
  • Send ‘mPulse’ to 344
  • Download MyMTNApp, go to tariff plan and select mPulse

Q. What do I stand to enjoy if I migrate to mPulse tariff plan?

A. You will enjoy the following:

  • WhatsApp bonus on first recharge in a calendar month.
  • Data Bonus on recharge.
  • ₦200 airtime reward on your birthday

Special data bundles for mPulse website at 750MB for ₦150 and 250MB for ₦50.

  • FREE 30MB on your first access to mPulse website.

Q. How much will I be charged for migrating to mPulse?

A. You will NOT be charged for migrating into mPulse tariff plan if it is your first migration in 30 days. Subsequent migrations within the same month will attract ₦102 migration fee.

Q. I just bought a new number and migrated from YafunYafun to mPulse BUT I was charged from my Activation Bonus account for calls, SMS & Data. What does this mean?

A. Yes, you will now receive N500 activation bonus on your new number once you register and activate the new number.

Q. When will I be able to use the N500 Activation bonus on my new number?

A. You will be able to use the N500 activation bonus on your new number once you perform a chargeable activity from your main account (Calls, SMS, data activities SMS, bundle activation etc.)

Q. What activities can I perform with the N500 Activation bonus?

A. You will be able to perform National calls, SMS and data from the N500 activation bonus as follows:

  • N400 for National Voice calls & SMS.
  • N100 for ALL data activities.

Q. How long will I be able to use the ₦500 Activation bonus?

A. The ₦500 Activation bonus will be valid for 7 days from the date of SIM activation BUT unused bonus will be cleared after 7days.

Q. How many times can I get the ₦500 Activation bonus?

A. You will receive the ₦500 Activation bonus ONCE after buying and registering a new MTN number.

Q. If I migrate to another tariff plan with my ₦500 Activation bonus, will I still be able to use it?

A. Yes, you will still be able to use the ₦500 Activation bonus when you migrate to another tariff plan as long as the bonus has not expired.

Q. How do I subscribe to the mPulse special data bundles?

A. You can subscribe to any of the mPulse Special Data bundles by doing any of the following:

  • SMS:

– For a Weekly bundle of 250MB, send 350 to 344

– For a Bi-Weekly bundle of 750MB, send 351 to 344

  • USSD: Dial *344# and then, select the data bundle of choice from the menu.
  • From the mPulse website, from the drop-down menu of the student dashboard, select the data bundle of your choice from the list of bundles.

Q. I just received a pop-up menu to choose either One-off or Recurrent option after activating a data bundle. What does this mean?

A. The Pop-up menu is a new feature that allows you to set your data bundle on One-off or Recurrent purchase:

  • One-Off Purchase means that your data bundle will not renew after expiry.
  • Recurrent Purchase means your data bundle will auto-renew after expiry.

Q. If I exit the Pop-Up Menu or it times out before selecting an option, will my data bundle be on One-off or Recurrent option?

A. If you exit the Pop-Up Menu or it times out before selecting an option, your data bundle will be on One-off purchase. This means that your data bundle will not auto-renew upon expiry.

Q. If my data bundle is on One-off option, will I be able to opt in for Auto-renewal?

A. Yes, you will be able to opt in for Auto-renewal by sending R+bundle code to 131.

Example: If you have an active 250MB 7-days bundle that is on One-off option, you will be able to opt in for auto renewal by sending R350 to 131.

Q. Will I be able to cancel auto-renewal anytime?

A. Yes, you will be able to cancel auto-renewal on your bundle anytime by sending the opt-out keyword to 131. Example: NO350 to 131

Q. How much will I be charged for subscribing for mPulse Special weekly or Bi-Weekly data bundles?

A. For the Weekly bundle 250MB, you will be charged ₦50 and for the Bi-Weekly bundle of 750MB, you will be charged at ₦150.

Q. What is the validity of the special data bundle?

A. The weekly and Bi-Weekly special bundles will be valid for 7days and 14 days respectively.

Q. What will I get after subscribing to the special bundle?

A. For the Weekly bundle, you will be credited with 250MB and 750MB for the Bi-Weekly bundle.

Q. How do I check my special data bundle balance?

A. You will be able to check your data bundle balance via the following channels:

  • Dialing *344*2*2#.

Q. Can I access all website with the mPulse special data bundle?

A. No, you can only access mPulse Website with the special data bundle.

Q. Can I purchase the mPulse special data bundle multiple times?

A. Yes, you can activate any of the mPulse special data bundle multiples times. However, the data bundles purchased will have its expiry date BUT the bundle with the least expiry will be used first.

Q. If I have mPulse Special data bundle and Fastlink bundle active, which bundle will deplete first?

A. If you have mPulse Special data bundle and Fastlink bundle active, then your browsing on mPulse website will be charged from your mPulse special data bundle and when you have finished the bundle, your data charges while on the website will be charged from your Fastlink bundle.

However, if you have mPulse Special data bundle and Fastlink bundle active, then your browsing on other websites will be charged from your Fastlink bundle and when you have finished the data bundle, your data activity will be suspended until you buy another Fastlink bundle or opt in for PAYG browsing.

Q. Will my mPulse Special data bundle auto-renew?

A. Your mPulse Special data bundle will only auto renew on the day of expiry if you selected ‘Recurrent Purchase’ at the time purchase and as long as you have enough airtime.

Q. What happens if I exhaust my mPulse Special data bundle before the renewal date and do not have any other bundle?

A. As soon as you exhaust your data bundle before the expiry and do not have any other active data bundle, your data access will be suspended and you will not be able to browse again. To continue browsing, you will need to do one of the following:

  • Buy another mPulse data plan by dialling *344*2# to continue browsing on mPulse website
  • Buy another Fastlink data plan by dialling *131*1# or *904#,
  • Borrow data by dialling *606#
  • Opt-in for a Pay As You Go browsing by dialling *131*200# to continue browsing from your airtime @N3.07/MB

Q. Will I be able to rollover my unused main data bundle?

A. Yes, you will be able to roll over any unused main data bundle as long as you buy another bundle before the current bundle expires or within the allowed grace period after the bundle expires BUT you will NOT be able to rollover any unused data bonus.

Below is the breakdown of the applicable rollover period per bundle plan:

Q. What will happen if I do not renew my expired bundle after the rollover period?

A. If you fail to renew your expired bundle after the rollover period, all your unused bundle will be cleared.

Q. I have 500MB left after my bundle expired. Will I be able to use it within the rollover period?

A. No, you will not be able to use it within the rollover period until you renew the bundle or purchase another bundle of the same category.

Q. Will I be able to rollover my unused data bonus?

A. No, you will not be able to roll over any unused data bonus even if the bundle auto-renews before expiry, upon expiry or within the applicable rollover period.

Q. Can I share my MTN mPulse Special Data bundle?

A. No, you will not be able to share your mPulse Special data bundle.

Q. Will I be able to browse from my airtime automatically after exhausting my data bundle?

A. You will be able to browse from your airtime after exhausting your data bundle BUT you will be required to opt-in before you can browse from your airtime at Pay As You Go rate.

Q. How do I opt-in for PAYG browsing?

A. To opt-in for PAYG browsing, simply;

  • Dial *131*200#.
  • Send RESET to 131.

Q. How much will I be charged for browsing from my airtime after opting in for PAYG browsing?

A. Your browsing from your airtime will be charged at ₦3.07/MB.

Q. Will I be charged for opting in for PAYG browsing?

A. No, you will not be charged for opting in for PAYG browsing.

Q. How do I opt out of PAYG browsing?

A. To opt out of PAYG browsing, simply

  • Dial *131*201#
  • Send SUSPEND to 131.

Q. How can I stop the auto-renewal of my special bundle?

A. You can stop auto-renewal by sending the opt-out keyword NO350 to 344 for weekly bundle or NO351 to 344 for the Bi-Weekly bundle.

Q. Will I receive any bonus data bonus when I recharge on MTN mPulse?

A. Yes. You will receive the following data bonuses when you recharge on MTN mPulse:

First Recharge of the month

  • You will receive 10MB/20MB data bonus on your first recharge of ₦100/₦200 in the month, valid for 30days and free 25MB Whatsapp data bonus (for Whatsapp ONLY) on your first recharge of ₦100/₦200 in the month valid for 7days.

First Recharge in the subsequent week(s) of the month

  • You will receive 10MB/20MB data bonus on your first recharge of ₦100/₦200 in the subsequent week(s) of the same month, valid for 1day.

Q. Will I be able to rollover my unused data bonus(es) on recharge?

A. No. All unused data bonus on recharge will NOT roll-over and will be cleared once it expires.

Q. What will be the validity of the free 10MB/20MB data bonus?

A. The FREE Monthly 10MB/20MB data bonus received on first recharge in a month is valid for 30days while the FREE 10MB/20MB received from first recharge of the subsequent week(s) of same month, is valid for 1day.

Q. If I have an active data bundle before/after receiving the data bonus on recharge, which will deplete first when I browse?

A. The data with the closest expiry will deplete first. i.e If the data bonus has the closest validity, it will deplete ahead of the data bundle and vice versa.

Q. Will I be able to use the free 10MB/20MB data bonus on recharge when I migrate out of MTN mPulse?

A. No, you will NOT be able to use the free 10MB/20MB data bonus on recharge when you migrate out to another tariff plan.

However, if/when you migrate back to mPulse while the bonus is still valid, you will be able to use the bonus.

Q. What is the validity of the free WhatsApp bonus on recharge?

A. The free WhatsApp bonus will be valid for 7days.

Q. Will I be able to use the free WhatsApp bonus to browse all social App?

A. No, the free WhatsApp bonus can only be used on WhatsApp.

Q. When next will I be eligible to get the Whatsapp data bonus?

A. You will get the Whatsapp data bonus on your first recharge of ₦100/₦200 of the following month.

Q. Will I be able to receive the free WhatsApp bonus if I recharge using share n sell?

A. No, you will be able to receive the free WhatsApp bonus when you recharge via physical, logical, on-demand, VTU and DYA channels.

Q. If I have free WhatsApp bonus, active paid WhatsApp bundle and Fastlink bundle, which of them will be charged first?

A. Your WhatsApp charges will be charged first from the WhatsApp bonus, then WhatsApp bundle after which it will be deducted from Fastlink bundle.

Q. Who is eligible to receive the free ₦200 airtime birthday reward?

A. Only mPulse customers that are 15years and below are eligible to receive the free ₦200 airtime birthday reward on the day of their birthday. However, after your 15th birthday, you will not be eligible to receive the free ₦200 airtime bonus again on the day of your birthday.

Q. How many times will I receive the ₦200 birthday reward?

A. You will be able to receive the birthday bonus ONCE a year and on the day of their birthday.

Q. What do I need to enjoy the birthday reward?

A. To enjoy the birthday reward, you will need to provide your name and date of birth via the following channels:

  • On mPulse website when you are logged in as a student
  • mPulse page on myMTN App.
  • Dialing *344# and selecting birthday reward

Q. Will I be able to update my birthday details after providing it?

A. No, once you have provided your birthday details, you will not be allowed to change the details again.

Q. Will I be able to transfer my birthday airtime bonus via MTN Share n Sell?

A. No, you will not be able to share your birthday airtime bonus via Share n Sell.

Q. What are the services that I can use my birthday airtime bonus for?

A. The airtime bonus will be used for National Voice calls, National SMS and Pay As You Go Data.

Q. What is the rate that at which I will be charged for Calls, SMS and Data from my birthday airtime bonus?

A. Your Calls, SMS and Data from your birthday airtime bonus will be charged as follows:

  • National Calls – 15.36k/sec

Q. What is the validity of the Birthday reward?

A. The airtime bonus will be valid till 11:59 pm of the following day.

Q. For the free 30MB bonus, do I need to send any keyword to activate it?

A. No, you, will NOT be required to send any keyword to any short code to activate the Free data. As an mPulse customer, once you are accessing mPulse website or App for the first time, you will be allocated the 30MB for FREE.

Q. What is the validity of the 30MB mPulse Website/App offer?

A. The free 30MB will be valid for 30 days after which all unused bonus will clear.

Q. Can I use the free 30MB to browse all websites or App?

A. No, you can only use the free 30MB to browse on mPulse website or App.

Q. If I buy any of the Special mPulse data bundle, will I be able to rollover any used data bonus from the 30MB into the special data bundle?

A. No, if you have active 30MB and the buy any of the special mPulse data bundles, all your charges while on mPulse website will be deducted first from the free 30MB after which you will be charged from the special mPulse data bundle.

Q. What is Birthday Reward?

A. The birthday reward offers mPulse customers N200 airtime in their main balance on the birthdate registered via the *344# mPulse menu.

Q. How will I register my Birthday on the mPulse menu?

A. You can register your birthdate on the mPulse menu by following the steps below:

  • Dial *344#
  • Select Birthday Reward
  • Input birthday details
  • Enter your first name
  • Enter birthday date in the format dd/mm/yyyy

Q. I made a mistake when registering my Birthdate, how can I change it?

A. Sorry. You can’t change your birthdate once you have registered it via the *344# menu.

Q. Which code can I use to activate my Birthday Reward?

A. You don’t need any code to activate the birthday reward. You will automatically receive your birthday reward on the birth date you registered through the *344# mPulse menu.

Q. How will I get my Birthday Reward?

A. You will be credited with ₦200 in your main balance on the birth date you registered through the *344# mPulse menu. The first birthday reward will be received in the following year after joining and registering your birthdate on the *344# mPulse menu.

Q. What can I use my Birthday Reward for?

A. The birthday reward can be used to make national calls, SMS and PAYG browsing ONLY.

Q. How many times can I get a Birthday Reward?

A. You will receive your birthday reward once a year if your registered age is within 9 – 15years. You will not receive the reward if your registered age on the mPulse platform is less than 9 years or more than 15 years.

Q. Can I share my Birthday Reward?

A. No. You can’t share your birthday reward.

Q. How much am I charged when I make calls from my Birthday Reward?

A. You will be charged at the standard mPulse call rate of 15.36k per second when you make calls with your birthday reward.

Q. Can I buy data bundle or VAS service with my Birthday Reward?

A. No. You cannot buy data bundle or VAS service with your birthday reward. You can ONLY make national calls, SMS and PAYG data with the birthday reward.

Q. What is the validity of my Birthday Reward?

A. Your birthday reward is valid for 24hours from the time it was received.

Q. Will I lose my Birthday Reward if I don’t use it?

A. Yes. You will lose your birthday reward after 24hours and all unused values will be cleared from the line.

Parent-Child Link

Q. What is Parent-Child link?

A. Parent-Child link is a feature that enables airtime and data gifting from a parent number to a linked child number.

Q. Why should I link my number to my parent number?

A. Parent-child link enables an easy data and airtime share from parent line to child line.

Q. Can a child account link to a parent account?

A. Yes. A child account can link to a parent account by following the steps below:

  • Dial *344# from child line
  • Select 3 for Send link request to parent
  • Select 2 for Add Child number
  • Enter Child number

NB: A child line can ONLY add a maximum of two (2) parent lines.

Q. Can a parent account link a child account?

A. Yes. A parent line can link child account(s) via USSD.

Q. How, can a parent line link child numbers?

A. You can link child account by following the steps below:

  • Dial *344#
  • Select 5 for Parent/Child Link
  • Select 2 for Add Child number
  • Enter Child number

NB: A parent line can ONLY add a maximum of six (6) child lines.

Q. Can a Parent line add a child number that is NOT an MTN number?

A. No. Only MTN numbers can be linked together

Q. Can a Parent line add a child number that is already linked to two (2) parents?

A. A child line can only be linked to a maximum of two (2) parent numbers at a time.

Q. Can a Parent number add a child number that is NOT on MTN mPulse tariff plan?

A. No. Only child accounts on mPulse can be linked successfully with/to a parent line.

Q. How much will I pay for linking my number?

A. Linking is free. However,

Q. How many numbers can I link to my number?

A. You can link a maximum of six (6) numbers

Q. How long will a number be linked to my line?

A. All linked numbers will remain linked until you un-link the number.

Q. Can I un-link a number?

A. Yes. You can un-link a number from your line by following the steps below:

  • Dial *344#
  • Select 5 for Parent/Child Link
  • Select 6 for Unlink number
  • Select the number to unlink
  • Then you will receive a notification confirming the line has been un-linked

Q. Will I be able to listen to the calls of my child account linked to my line?

A. No. You can NOT listen to the calls of the child accounts linked to your line. You can only gift airtime and data bundle.

Q. Can I view my linked numbers on my phone?

A. Yes. You can view linked number on your line by following the steps below:

  • Dial *344#
  • Select 5 for Parent/Child Link
  • Select 4 for View Linked numbers
  • A view of the numbers linked to your number will be displayed.

Q. Will the airtime and data gifted to the child account auto-renew at the time of expiry?

A. Yes. The airtime and data gifted to the child account will auto-renew at the time of expiry. However, auto-renewal status can be modified.

Q. Can I modify the airtime and data linked to my child account?

A. Yes. You can modify the airtime and data gifted to the child account(s) by following the steps below:

  • Dial *344#
  • Select 5 for Parent/Child Link
  • Select 5 for Edit Child Airtime/Data limit

Q. As a parent line, can I also migrate to mPulse to enjoy the benefits?

A. Once a parent line migrates to Mpulse tariff plan, all child numbers linked to the parent line will be automatically un-linked from the parent line and all gifting will automatically stop.

Q. As a child line, will I lose my airtime/data gift if I migrate out from mPulse tariff plan?

A. Once you migrate out of the mPulse tariff plan, you will NOT lose your gifted airtime/data. However, the airtime/data will NOT autorenew.

Q. What should I do to get the 10% airtime bonus on recharge?

A. You can get the 10% airtime Bonus on recharge when you recharge via the eligible recharge channels listed below:

2. MyMTN app

Q. How long will I be able to use the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge?

A. The 10% Airtime bonus on recharge will be valid for 7 days BUT unused bonus will be cleared after 7days.

A. No. 10% Airtime bonus on recharge can’t be shared/transferred to another line.

A. You will receive the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge for every recharge you make via the eligible channels.

Q. If I migrate to another tariff plan with my 10% Airtime bonus on recharge, will I still be able to use it?

A. Yes, you will still be able to use the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge when you migrate to another tariff plan as long as the bonus has not expired.
