Empty streets welcome Buhari to Imo state
President Muhammadu Buhari has been welcomed to Imo state by empty streets as residents stayed home following a sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Recall that the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) had directed all residents of the state to sit at home as a form of protest that the Nigerian leader is not ”welcome ”to the state in solidarity with their leader Nnamdi Kanu, who is still under the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
As early as 8 am up to 11 am the streets of Owerri, Imo’s capital was reportedly empty. Major places in the Owerri metropolis including banks, filling stations, schools and markets were completely shutdown.
